Google PageRank Update: Slams Some of My Directories
Tagged Under : bidding directory, general directory, niche directory, pagerank update
Today is not a really good day for my directory networks - Some of my bidding directories are experiencing a drop in PR, one increases in PR and the rest stays the same.
Not really sad, actually - because I know beforehand that there will be challenges on my new directories in maintaining the PageRank. I’ve promoted well and build backlinks hard - including with those of higher PR to ‘pull’ my directories PR.
Here’s a brief summary of what I’ve done with my directory network and the (oh not so good) outcomes
- English Fair Bidding Directory
Still an authority of my directory network - has been a PR5 with 200+ visitors/day bidding web directory for at least 3 google PR updates. - Tookle Bidding Directory
This is the hardest hit directory I have - Although it is the most trafficked bidding web directory I have, it certainly proves that link building is very important in term of PR. I’ve promoted it well, but alas, the result is not that good. Hopefully in the next update, its PR will go up again
- BlacPac Bidding Directory
Acquired in July 10, 2008, I’ve worked hard for this already strong directory. However, Google thinks it is still lacking popularity - hence, the PR is dropped from 4 to 3. I firmly believe it will be back to PR4 in the next update! - Bidpreneur Bidding Directory
A truly newcomer, only get the PR it deserves - 0. - NPX01 Bidding Directory
This is the only bidding web directory in my network that has gone up in PR, from 2 to 3. Apparently my promotion and link building is just right for this directory - you can see it’s backlinks - quite powerful, I might add. - Directory Dub Bidding Directory
A fairly new bidding web directory I have - has just transfered ownership to me about 10 days ago. A drop from PR 1 to 0 is understandable. - Purple Spider SEO Bidding Directory
I buy this non-dropped domain name at the wrong timing - I’m slow in doing link building and promotion, hence Google kick it @ss from PR 3 to PR 1. Backlinks are limited, resulting in a weak directory. Hopefully it will jump back to PR 3 in the next update after being heavily promoted! - CEO Bid Directory
Only 3 days old - so it sticks to PR 0. - Camrosecs General Directory
250+ visitors per day says it all. PR-wise, it sticks to PR3. - Microtecture Design Niche Directory
This niche directory drops from PR 3 to PR 2 simply due to the young age of the directory. Next update, it will go back to PR3 - I bet on it
- AdanaCup General Directory
The newest acquisition of my directory network - an already strong performer, it has no problem whatsoever to stay to PR 3. Even I surprised that it’s not go up to PR4. Perhaps on the next update?
Yes - I know what you mean - PR is not everything, yet I mentioned it a lot. To me, PR is one of the measurement I use to rate my SEO (I rely more on SEOmoz’s Page Strength - now Trifecta). Plus, having a good PR is beneficial for my directory, as well as the link bidders.
So, yes - Although not the most important, this PR updates is quite important to me.
Now, get to work ![]()
