I often questioned (and laughed) about my decision on letting my web directories clean and family-friendly.

People always said to me that having casino and gambling sites listed in my web directories, especially my bidding directories, will bring top dollars flowing in to me.

That is partly true. I’ve seen a short period of ’shortage’ in revenue due to keeping my directory clean and family-friendly. For example, up to this time, I have rejected and refunded almost $300 total bids from casino/gambling related sites this past 2 months.

However, keeping my directory clean and family-friendly does bring in more revenue in the long run - I believe advertisers and link bidders that avoid bad neighbourhood are more likely to place bids or purchase links on my clean web directories.

A word of advice - you should start clean and family-friendly right from the beginning of your web directory llife. Doing so in the middle is troublesome and actually put your web directories in a questionable state - link submitters will think, “Will it stay clean?” or “This web directory is indecisive - not a good directory.” - think about it.

So, if you interested in having your directories attract more ‘clean’ submissions, avoid accepting links from the casino/gambling related sites.
